Can our Village reduce the number of unfilled Service Requests? Can we make it easier and faster for our call managers and staff to find volunteers for service requests? Can we make it easier for volunteers to say “I’ll do that one”?
The Automated Open Request features rolled out by RMV earlier this year promise each of these benefits. The initial rollout was a little rocky, but the bugs have been ironed out and initial Villages using AOR are seeing real benefits. We think it is time for more Villages to look at AOR seriously.
The January User Talk will be about AOR and will be hosted by Carol Moynes from Viva Village. Viva has quite successfully implemented the AOR functionality with very quick and very positive results. She will talk about how Viva did – how they made choices, got buy in from Village management and volunteers, tested their implementation, trained staff and volunteers, etc. She will also show some of the available AOR choices that your Village may want but were not important for Viva. There will be time for Q+A. We anticipate that relevant staff from RMV and users from other Villages that have implemented AOR will be available to lend their expertise.
This session is designed for Villages that are considering implementing the Automated Open Request features, expanding to new AOR features, or have questions about AOR.
The session will be of particular interest to those people who will decide whether to implement AOR in your Village, those who will influence the “deciders,” people responsible for volunteers, and call managers/staff who enter service requests. Please invite anyone from your Village who you think might be interested.

These monthly talks are designed to help Villages use RunMyVillage more effectively. Each month has a different topic. The intended audience always includes the technology community within your Village; in addition, others in the Village may be invited based on the planned topic. Each of the User Talks has time for Villages to ask RunMyVillage-related questions to RMV and to other Villages. Examples of what we plan for these talks: RMV new release updates and discussions, results of surveys of desired enhancements to RMV, discussion of best practices and common issues particularly where Villages use RMV is different ways, and RMV orientations for new Villages.
