“The Connected Village: Fulfilling Medicaid Community Engagement Requirements by Providing Older Adults and People with Disabilities with More Support”
Village to Village Network (www.vtvnetwork.org) and HCBS Strategies (hcbs.info) are hosting a webinar on how states can use an approach based on the Village Model to meet the Medicaid Community Engagement/Work Requirements. The Village model matches volunteers with older adults and other people with disabilities who need additional support. This approach could serve as a cornerstone for state efforts to build infrastructure that allows people to meet Community Engagement requirements.
The approach, which is called the Connected Village, involves states building infrastructure that would allow a variety of organizations to become Villages or Village-like organizations. This infrastructure includes incorporating 1) the ability for Villages to directly document community engagement hours and 2) directing people at risk of losing eligibility to these organizations. The webinar will also discuss opportunities for states and villages to receive Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) to support efforts.
