TrustedRiders - Bridging the Transportation Gap to Help Vulnerable Seniors Get All the Places They Want to Go Safely and Securely
TrustedRiders, a nationally proven Volunteer Chaperone aging-in-place transportation and temporary caregiving initiative, supports local programs to send out trained volunteers to escort vulnerable people to and from anyplace they need or want to go - door-through-door and at the destination if requested - uniquely Making ANY available transport ACCESSIBLE, from rideshare, community transportation, public transportation, and driver services where the driver must park and/or stay with the car.
Bridging a gap in transportation to healthcare and essential services, TrustedRiders can provide local Villages a low-cost, site-tested program including an online Training and Certification process, a TrustedRiders Scheduler and App, administrative playbooks, standards for safety and communication, and ongoing consulting assistance from nationally experienced human service professionals.
TrustedRiders has helped obtain HHS Community Care Corps, AmeriCorps Seniors and other funding of over $5 million in 6 years of operation in 18 sites, 16 states, in partnership with community organizations and healthcare providers. A new CCC grant has just been announced, for which Villages would be eligible.
