Is your Village finding that the content on your website gets stale? Are your pictures out of date? Does the web reflect your Village’s current key messages? Did you update your donation page quickly with the changes in the tax law? Are you posting Board changes quickly? In short, are you concerned that your Village, like many Villages, may not be keeping its web content up-to-date, accurate, and appealing? Our June 15th User Talk will be about sharing best practices for keeping the content (words and pictures) on the web up to date. We’ve collected ideas from multiple Villages about the processes they use to tie web content to Village initiatives, make sure the page editors (those responsible for the content) and the page typesetters (those doing the actual update) work together effectively, make sure webpages are reviewed periodically to ensure the content remains relevant and correct, tools to use to make updating easier, etc. Note: this session assumes that the Village has thought about its objectives for its web presence (audience, messages, integration with social media). This session also does not cover Website Look and Feel guidelines (see document that the User Group has prepared here). If you have topics or questions that you would like us to address in this User Talk or your Village has developed some best practices that you would like to share, please let us know. We expect those most interested in this session will be the people from your Village who create pages for your web or are responsible for pages after they are created, curate your web pictures, and make the actual web updates.
