The Encore Movement - What it is, and how it can support your Village

The encore movement recognizes a new life stage of healthy, active post-midlife years, values the experience of older adults and sees them as a resource for society.  We're kindred spirits with the Village movement and work in many of the same locations.

After an overview of encore themes, we'll talk about four areas for collaboration: getting the word out about Village activities, leveraging resources of interest to your Village members, recruiting skilled volunteers/board members and partnering to present programs.

Betsy Werley of Encore.org will lead the presentation; other presenters include Villages NW leader Ken Pyburn and Advisory Group member Debbie Durham, NEXT Village San Francisco Board Chair Jonee Levy and Mona Kreaden of The Transition Network.  We'll also share insights from Judy Willett, former Village to Village Network ED.
