What does it mean to be a Village board member? What role does the board play in the Village operations? What are the best practices to ensure good, sustainable governance for the Village? As a part of the DC Senior Villages Sustainability and Replication Initiative, Capital Impact Partners is hosting a board training session for active DC based Village board members. In partnership with experts from BoardSource, the event will provide board members an opportunity to learn more about their important role in the success of the Village. We encourage all Villages to send at least 2-3 board representatives to this exciting training. We encourage Village Executive Directors participate during the afternoon of this training to engage with your board members.
The District of Columbia Office on Aging (DCOA) seeks to assist the D.C.-based Senior Villages to sustain and expand the local Village movement and broaden the local aging network’s ability to serve aging population needs in the District of Columbia (D.C.). DCOA has engaged Capital Impact Partners to provide D.C.-based Villages the opportunity to engage in peer knowledge exchange to strengthen the administration of the Village model, support sustainability practices and replicate the Village model to all older adults throughout the District.
